2023 Grand Marshals - Harley of Cochran
Back in the early 1980’s, at a small garage in an area just west of
Aurora Indiana called Cochran, several like minded motorcyclist formed
a motorcycle riding club. Since they all rode Harley Davidson
motorcycles, they decided to call themselves Harley of Cochran. They
held monthly meetings, formed a board of directors and held Poker
Runs, field meets, pig roast and other events geared towards the interest
of the fast growing numbers of local motorcyclist.
Never judge a book by it’s cover; Harley Of Cochran has worked
tirelessly to build our reputation as a philanthropic group not a gang
stereotyped as the media always seems to portray every motorcycle
group. All of the money raised at the events we sponsored went to
support a wide number of charities such as the YES home, sports teams,
scholarships. The organization also assisted veterans causes and helped
pay for countless local folks who had fallen on hard times. Money raised
at our events went to serve others and not to benefit the group.
In the 41 years since it’s inception, Harley of Cochran has grown to
around 30 hard working members including a Chaplin who are still
dedicated helping others. In April of 2023 we will be erecting a shelter
at the Lauren Hill Memorial dog park. We don’t seek headlines or media
attention, the feelings we get from helping others is more than enough.
